Thieves of Ashes

SYNOPSIS: 

In the apocalyptic landscapes of recent wildfires, Karin and Honza, two Czech seasonal workers in their thirties travel to the vast forests of northern Canada to join the highly-prized morel mushroom harvest. Seeking freedom and adventure through hard, unregulated labor outside the system, what begins as a rejection of modern routines and capitalist constraints slowly reveals its own contradictions, as the instability and isolation of off-grid living bring forward a quiet longing for safety, connection, and structure.
