Dorota Zacharová

Dorota Zacharová graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava where she studied Film Theory at the Department of Audiovisual Studies, spending a semester of Digital Image studies at University of Aveiro. For several years she worked as an cultural and artistic manager in the French Institute in Bratislava and collaborated with various film festivals such as the International Francophone Film Festival in Bratislava (FIFFBA) and ¡Viva la película!. She cooperated with the independent cultural center A4 – Space for Contemporary Culture, working on the program of cinema focused on arthouse films. For two years she was a high school instructor of cinema course Thinking through Cinema focused on introduction to the (documentary) film for teenage children. She works as a Country Project Manager for online distribution platform DAFilms.sk focused mostly on Slovak and Czech cinema. Together with Viera Čákanyová, Alexandra Gojdičová and Matej Sotník, they run the Guča production company. She is an executive producer of the Viera Čákanyova's "Notes From Eremocene" (2023) with world premiere at 73rd Berlinale in Forum.

Matej Sotník

Matej Sotník is a partner and producer at guča films and Somatic Films (CZ), and co-founder and creative director at Film Expanded distribution company. He is the producer of Viera Čákanyová’s sci-fi documentary "Notes from Eremocene" with world premiere at Berlinale 2023 and "Lapilli" by Paula Ďurinová with a world premiere at Karlovy Vary IFF (Proxima Competition). He is currently producing 6 feature documentaries of emerging talents such as "World of Walls" (dir. Lucia Kašová), "It's Not Your Fault" (dir. Paula Ďurinová) or "600 Raids" (dir. Kristina Leidenfrostova) and co-producing feature documentaries such "The Other One" (dir. Marie Magdalena Kochová) or "If Pigeons Turned to Gold" (dir. Pepa Lubojacki). He is alumnus of workshops such as Emerging Producers 2024, MIDPOINT Series Launch, MFI Doc Lab or IDFAcademy. Matej is a co- founder of the Slovak Documentary Film Association and member of the European Film Academy.

Alexandra Gojdičová

Alexandra Gojdičová graduated in editing at the Prague FAMU, formerly cultural studies at the Comenius University in Bratislava. As an editor, she has participated in more than forty short or feature and documentary films. It is signed under internationally successful films and films by important directors such as 5th October (dir. Martin Kollár, 206), Pyranha (dir. Viera Čákanyová, 2007), Alda (dir. Viera Čákanyová, 2009), Jealous Love and Artistic Love (dir. Věra Chytilová, 2009 ), Tmář a jeho rod (dir. Karel Vachek, 2011), Midnight (dir. Klára Tasovská, 2010) or Race to the bottom (dir. Vít Janeček, 2011). She is the editor of a series of short films within the TV series We Build Slovakia under the production baton of Peter Kerekes. She is currently working as an editor on Ivan Ostrochovsky's upcoming film called Luther. In addition, she works as a PR manager within the Slovak branch of the DAFilms streaming platform. For the films Connection (dir. Vladimír Kovář, 2012) and Alda, she won the Best Editing Awards at FAMUfest.

Viera Čákanyová
director, producer, dramaturgist
Viera Čákanyová graduated from Screenwriting Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and from the Documentary Film at FAMU in Prague. Her early feature documentaries won a number of awards, such as Best First/Second film at Visions du Réel and Best Documentary at German Documentary FF in Kassel. Her visual storytelling can be found in the films "Gottland" (2014) or "Slovakia 2.0" (2014). "Notes from Eremocene" (2023), "FREM" (2019) and "White on White" (2020) are currently her most successful films. First two had theirs world/international premieres at Berlinale - Forum. "FREM" won Award for Best Debut at the ELBE DOCK festival and was screened at more than two dozen important international film festivals around the world. Her subsequent film "White on White" won the main prize at 24. Jihlava IDFF. It also won the GreenDox Award at Dokufest in Kosovo, the Czech Competition at One World in Prague and was selected for the main competitions at the prestigious Sheffield DocFest and ZagrebDox. As a director Čákanyová she participates in the upcoming project "Eco Disasters" together with Lucia Kašová and Barbora Sliepková. As an editor, she worked on the films of Ivan Ostrochovský, "Goat" (2014) and "Servants" (2020).

Our films have been presented or awarded at international film festivals such as Berlinale, Karlovy Vary IFF, Sheffield Doc/Fest, DOK Leipzig, Busan IFF, RIDM Montréal and many others.
We co-produce with established partners from Germany, France, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic or South Africa, involving public broadcasters such as ARTE or Czech Television.
